Duvel

Duvel a.k.a. Duuv a.k.a. Duvelduvel a.k.a. DuvelDuvel is a dutch artist/producer from Rotterdam who has been pioneering the dutch hiphop scene since 1983. As one of the first artists to publish his music on the internet, from 1998, Duvel played a key role in the rise of dutch hiphop and the changing musical landscape at the time. Together with Rein de Vos and Supadupah classic albums such as Rijmpappie Nr. 1 (indie), Aap-o-theek (TopNotch) and (after the departure of Rein de Vos) Puur Kultuur (TopNotch) were released. Known for their use of slang, and unconventional beats and way of rhyming, they quickly established legendary status and influenced a lot of artists who would later become key players in the dutch hiphop scene of their own. Later projects such as the Rottz label, Ruyzdael and various other collaborations with the likes of producers like DJ MP, Zo Moeilijk's Nikes and Dope DOD's Chubeats have shown Duvel's versatility and non conformist way of working. In 2024 former labelmates at TopNotch Nikes and Nosa, team up with Duuv to release the album BIGIPOKU. 2025 Saw the releases of the albums The Rhythm The Rebel with DJ MP, De Rode Draad with DJ Githyper and Rapnoir Chapitre 1 with Styn. In 2026 the new album RARITEITENKABINET will be released. Duvel gets busy.
