Enablers

Established in 2002 in San Francisco, Enablers has redefined "Spoken Word" music with five LPs and four EPs. Comprising Pete Simonelli, Kevin Thomson, Yuma Joe Byrnes, and Joe Goldring, and now Sam Ospovat, the band expertly integrates Simonelli's prose with dynamic guitars and precise drumming. Their debut LP, "End Note" (2004), signaled a new direction in spoken word music. Subsequent releases like "Output Negative Space" (2006) and "Tundra" (2008), along with EPs, showcased a range from melodic minimalism to rhythmic complexities, earning recognition in the European underground scene with their DIY touring approach. "Blown Realms and Stalled Explosions" (2011) marked a textured evolution, maintaining engaging elements. "The Rightful Pivot" (2015) reflected stages in their career, blending early rawness with matured songwriting. In 2019, "Zones" showcased Enablers' commitment to musical expansion, embracing experimentation and improvisation while resisting genre confinement. As of 2024, a compilation of their entire discography is available for streaming on digital platforms, allowing listeners to delve into the band's rich musical journey spanning almost two decades.
