Ensemble Ouranos

Founded in 2014 by clarinetist Amaury Viduvier, Ensemble Ouranos brings together five award-winning soloists from the Paris Conservatoire, united by a shared passion for the wind quintet repertoire. From the outset, they were in residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation, where they developed a distinctive, expressive approach to both classical and contemporary works. Drawing on experience with leading French orchestras, the ensemble emphasizes the wind quintet as the core of the symphonic palette, exploring the full richness of instrumental timbres. Their artistic curiosity has led to collaborations with renowned musicians such as Renaud Capuçon, François Salque, pianists Nicholas Angelich, Bertrand Chamayou, and the Hermès Quartet, expanding the traditional boundaries of the wind quintet. In 2017, Ensemble Ouranos won First Prize, the Audience Prize, the Bullukian Foundation Prize, and the Online Audience Prize at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition.
