Erena Terakubo is a highly accomplished musician and educator from Sapporo, Japan. She is a talented saxophonist, flutist, clarinetist, composer, arranger, and educator. Erena has achieved international acclaim, with performances across five different continents. She gained recognition early in her career with the release of her debut album "North Bird" while still in high school, which reached #1 on the Japanese jazz charts and earned Swing Journal's Gold Disc award. Erena has continued to impress with a total of six albums, collaborations with renowned musicians, and performances at prestigious venues and events worldwide. She has shared her expertise by conducting workshops at U.S. universities and touring Europe and Japan. Erena has graced the stage at illustrious venues such as the UN General Assembly Hall in New York, the Tokyo Jazz Festival, the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, and many others. Her global reach extends to countries such as Burkina Faso, Chile, Argentina, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria, Israel, and Australia. In addition to leading the Erena Terakubo quartet, she has collaborated with various ensembles and musicians, including Ron Carter, Kenny Barron, Jimmy Cobb, Jon Faddis, the Mingus Big Band, Terri Lyne Carrington, and the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. Her passion, talent, and dedication continue to inspire audiences worldwide.
