An underground indie folk artist.
On a day off from tour in Phoenix, AZ, a curious stranger gestured toward Eric Gabriel from across the street. Following the direction of her finger, Gabriel saw the roadrunner perched on a curb. Remarking that they are always in motion, the binocular-clad woman said, “It must be your lucky day.” Fittingly, Eric Gabriel’s sophomore effort, "Lucky Day Roadrunner," is about the odd and meaningful connections found by pausing on your travels or following the direction of a friendly stranger. Embracing this same spontaneity and wandering spirit, Lucky Day Roadrunner was recorded live with producer Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Florist) and a handful of friends and collaborators including Meg Duffy (Hand Habits, Perfume Genius), Sean Mullins (Sam Evian, Hannah Cohen), Adam Brisbin (Buck Meek), Dandy McDowell (Amen Dunes), and more. His second solo record in two years, Gabriel wrote the songs that would become "Lucky Day Roadrunner" amidst a period of large creative and personal changes, including exiting his eight year band and creative partners in Melt, a band he formed in 2017. With Melt, his first single launched them to viral success, reaching US Viral 50 charts. While studying literature at Georgetown University, he toured the country and refined his craft on stage over hundreds of performances. Gabriel lives in Brooklyn and works as a producer out of his studio Little Lot. littlelotbk.com
