An underground afro-cuban jazz artist.
Estrella Acosta is an acclaimed vocalist known for her captivating performances and deep connection to her Cuban roots. In her band ‘Esquina 25’, she has assembled a group of international musicians, based in the Netherlands, who artfully combine Afro-Caribbean grooves and Latin jazz with innovative arrangements and playful creativity. On her new album ‘Caminos’ they have widened their horizon to include a broad panorama of traditional Latin American music. Estrella invited special guests from Brasil, Cuba, Uruguay, Venezuela and the USA, who contribute their highly personal musical voices to the project. Estrella’s previous album ‘Tierra’ received a Latin GRAMMY® nomination in 2023. “With Caminos, Estrella Acosta and her band Esquina 25 offer more than a collection of songs—they present a living, breathing dialogue across cultures, traditions, and musical languages. It is a project that doesn’t simply travel across Latin America—it connects it.” - Danilo Navas, LatinJazzNet.com
