An underground jazz artist.
Since emerging on the jazz scene in 2013, Eugenie Jones, an award-winning singer-songwriter with an international fan base, has become one of the most evocative and evolving artists of our time. Described by Paris Move magazine as "having one of the most beautiful voices in the United States." Jones' ability to emotively embody her music is an engaging and powerful ability rarely seen. Jones' signature blend of traditional and contemporary styles is captured within an impressive discography of six highly acclaimed album releases, and the range of material she convincingly and comfortably covers is striking. Her sixth and current album, **EUGENIE **, charted on the Jazz Week Top 50 for 17 weeks, peaking worldwide at #4. With 32 published songs to her credit, critics compare Jones to Abbey Lincoln and Nina Simone for her thoughtful, intelligent, and clever songwriting. NEA Jazz Master and bassist Reggie Workman describes Jones as "an extraordinary singer, songwriter, and a source of light we're fortunate to experience." Beyond being acknowledged as an emotive and engaging songwriter and vocalist, she is also the recipient of the International Jazz Association's prestigious Jazz Hero Award for her philanthropic work in producing live jazz concerts that honor Seattle Central District's African American music legacy while simultaneously raising funds for nonprofit community service organizations.
