Evening In The Universe

Evening In The Universe is a newly formed UK Jazz band of old time musicians and longtime collaborators. The band is made up of Tashomi Balfour, Saul Eisenberg, Filippo Galli, Sean Quinn and JJ Stillwell, JJ Stillwell is the uniting thread of the quintet. JJ Stillwell and Filippo Galli have played in a variety of bands and been musical collaborators for over five years travelling the world together and playing across genres from jazz and classical music to pop. Tashomi Balfour and JJ met as resident musicians at a private members' jazz club in Soho. Tashomi is a mainstay jazz soloist with a client base of private and public venues in London and across the UK and abroad. Further friends and musical collaborators of JJ are Saul Eisenberg and Sean Quinn, who are also independently childhood friends continuously united through their musical explorations. Sean learnt the talking drum in Senegal, and Saul is a musician instrument builder. On uniting the band, JJ has steered Evening's first studio efforts as the main writer of the debut EP's tracks. Tashomi and Filippo have also written and co-written original tracks while Sean and Saul add the texture and atmosphere to the music. For Evening, Saul has handcrafted and modified a gas canister for the bell-like tones and Sean's handcrafted Gadget creates the ethereal soundscape of their debut EP Evening In The Universe.
