An underground choro artist.
Lulled by the sound of the cavaquinho since childhood, Fernando Dalcin began studying the instrument in a self-taught way. Thus, a few years later, he discovered the experience of being a soloist in the Choro circles in his city. Through close contact with Izaías Bueno de Almeida, Milton Mori and Danilo Brito, he began his studies on the mandolin. He is currently active not only as a mandolin soloist, but also as a cavaquinho and tenor guitar soloist. Interested in the search for historical and unknown Choro repertoires, she focused her research and musical practices on the diversity of sources, oral and written, that she considers necessary to recreate the Brazilian mandolin repertoire. As a result, he has participated as a collaborator in several works, as well as albums, documentaries, articles, etc. Fernando Dalcin has been a representative of the Brazilian brand Rouxinol since 2021, where he developed the new mandolin stringing formula. In 2022 he immigrated to Portugal where he began his studies of classical mandolin with professors António De Sousa Vieira and Patrícia Raquel. At the same time, he was admitted as a permanent mandolinist at the Portuguese Guitar and Mandolin Orchestra (OPGB). Together with her, he performs in the most varied and important concert halls in the country, accompanying soloists from all over the world.
