A homegrown, underground black metal act.
After almost two decades in their existence, Dutch black metal duo Fluisteraars continue to turn the landscapes, folklore and mysteries of their native Gelderland into something distinctly their own. From their acclaimed third album Bloem to the radial spherical Gegrepen door de Geest der Zielsontluiking, Fluisteraars have never stood still. Their evolving vision has carried black metal into psychedelic, progressive, ambient and ritualistic territory without losing its rural, personal character. In 2023, the band began De Kronieken van het Verdwenen Kasteel, a trilogy of EPs inspired by vanished castles and forgotten pagan histories around Bennekom. Harslo and Nergena were followed by the concluding chapter, Grunsfoort, in 2025. Between these releases came Manifestaties van de Ontworteling in 2024, an expansive ambient work that pushed their sound even further beyond conventional boundaries. It arrived in time for a special release show at the renown Roadburn Festival. Now, Fluisteraars return with Jacht der Mysteriën, their sixth full-length, built around three towering compositions and recorded as a complete live-band performance, the album draws on local legends, mysterious lights in the woods and the band's immediate surroundings. Recorded in a single take with longtime producer T. Cochrane and reamped through an abandoned water tower, Jacht der Mysteriën transforms place into atmosphere: immersive, mysterious and otherworldly.
Fluisteraars plays atmospheric black metal inspired by Dutch folklore, nature, and pagan history, released via Eisenwald.
Fluisteraars hails from Bennekom in the Gelderland province of the Netherlands.
