Far from his early days as a centre-stage enfant terrible, Copenhagen’s Frederik Valentin has turned from hedonism to introspective composition and cinematic song cycles. This bold shift has ushered in a new chapter marked by collaborations with Yung Lean, Loke Rahbek, and Lust For Youth’s Hannes Norrvide. Now, Valentin presents his solo album, Rock N Roll Will Never Die, blending elements from his artistic milieu into melodic reveries showcasing his earnest lyricism and songwriting. Written and recorded in his home studio, the album’s title track features Valentin and his daughter in a radiant summer jam, reflecting a new world in the making. His voice, painted in fractal autotune hues, sets the agenda with ‘Happy Boy,’ where digital exclamations float over acoustic guitar. ‘Ego Death’ dives into brooding club beats with anthemic euphoria. At the height of his creativity and in dialogue with top musical innovators, Valentin’s ROCK N ROLL WILL NEVER DIE, due September 19th bares deeply personal motivations on its grand stage, with disarming honesty as its most striking feature.
