Frozen Turtle's creativity knows no bounds. He's got the cold ass beats you can bump in the streets. Michael Reed is a producer, songwriter, DJ, bass guitarist, drummer, keyboardist, vocalist, and experimental sound designer. As part of his self-described “Turtle Funk” genre, he uses his natural rhythm, attention to detail, and the essence of funk & hip-hop to carve out a unique electronic dance music sound all his own. The stage name is a reference to the fact that turtles can freeze in the winter and melt when it gets warm in the spring - a metaphor to remind us we are never frozen forever. We will melt soon enough and go about our turtle lives :) FT has played hundreds of live shows all around the country, both with the Frozen Turtle Live Band, and solo with his beloved bass guitar Charlotte. He has also played dozens of music festivals, and opened for Sunsquabi, Michal Menert (Pretty Lights), Of The Trees, Mersiv, Esseks, Yheti, Toadface, Mystic Grizzly, Dizgo, Kaleidoscope Jukebox, Sfam, Vide, Bad Dagger, Eumatik + many more. Frozen Turtle's Cold Ass Beats Vol. 2, his 2018 EP containing the track “Pipe Dreams,” alluded to his rising stardom. But it was about to get even crazier with the 2020 single, "Backstroke". The song has amassed over 50,000 streams. Since then, Frozen Turtle has traveled the world, playing music for beautiful people on Earth's various beaches, gracing stages across every island with the coldest beats this side of Antarctica ❄️🐢
