Gelareh Sheibani

Gelareh Sheibani, born and raised in Iran, pursued her passion for music as a singer, recording artist, and live performer. In a country where live performances are heavily restricted, she collaborated with underground musicians and performed in churches and embassies. After releasing her first Persian song and video, she was banned by the government, forcing her to leave Iran. Gelareh became the first woman to release an official music video without a hijab after the Islamic Revolution in Iran, a bold move that set her apart. Known for her unique sound, which defied the typical style of Persian female singers, she quickly gained attention. She went on to perform in countries like China, Malaysia, India, and Turkey, before making her U.S. debut in September 2022 at the annual "Let Her Sing" event in San Francisco, sharing the stage with nine other female vocalists. Gelareh performed two original songs written by Hooman Ajdari: Nagoo Tanhai and Gharibeye Ziba. Gelareh has released two singles, Dar Kolbeh At and Ba To Hastam, and is currently working on her debut EP album.
