Grégoire Jokic
Point Éphémère // 07.11 // Paris Grégoire Jokic is a French pianist and composer from Caen in Normandy. He composes for piano and electronic music and released his first album 'Kairos' in 2021. While "Blow", his first single, was added to Nils Frahm's official playlist for Piano Day 2021, the Berlin label 7K! placed "Vol de nuit" on the Piano Layers II compilation. In March 2022, Grégoire Jokic was even invited by Thylacine to open for him at the Olympia. On October 21, 2022, he released his new EP Silent Impact, which he played during his autumn tour in support of Thylacine. His musical style is narrative and supported by a real balancing act, between the neoclassicism of the piano and seductive electronic ramblings, between experimental impulses and obvious melodic know-how. Now living in Paris, he plays with the codes of his time and likes to experiment with the piano, less attracted by conventional forms and flamboyance than by the possibility of composing the soundtrack of a sonic journey from which one returns moved, almost disturbed.
