GYMSHORTS is a high-energy 5 Michelin star, prize-blue-ribbon award winning band, burped up and spit out by providence-based writer and musician Sarah Greenwell. Greenwell formed the band in 2012 which is coincidentally the same year the original members of legendary rock band the Beach Boys reunited for their 50th anniversary reunion tour. After fiercely touring the US for a few years in her 2002 Honda CR-V™️, GYMSHORTS released their debut album “No Backsies!” on cassette, which has appeared in the same record shop alongside legendary punks The Ramones, Bikini Kill, and Nirvana. In 2016, the band made their Las Vegas debut at a neighborhood bar that Tony Hawk was spotted at. Greenwell has taken a full handful of group photos with famous celebrity musicians and was once overhead saying “that was awesome!” to a distracted Debbie Harry as she was getting off the stage at Bumbershoot festival in Seattle. In 2018, the name GYMSHORTS was mentioned in Rolling Stone Magazine in at least 12 point font or larger as part of an article about a band they were preparing to support on tour. Just this last fourth of July, Jerry Only from the original misfits sent a personal text to Greenwell’s cellphone as a favor to a close mutual family friend. Greenwell shares the same birthday with country legend Dolly Parton and Rock star Janis Joplin.
