Haris Akritidis is a Greek laïko singer born in Veria, Greece, and raised in an environment deeply influenced by Pontic traditions and strong family values. From an early age, he learned the importance of hard work, helping support his family while discovering his passion for music through traditional songs and the voices of legendary artists such as Stelios Kazantzidis, Stratos Dionysiou, Michalis Aggelopoulos, and Panos Gavalas. At just 10 years old, he began working in a car repair workshop, eventually becoming one of the most respected mechanics in the wider Macedonia region. He started singing at weddings, festivals, and local venues before gradually moving into professional live performances. In 1997, he moved to Athens to pursue music full-time. Soon after, he began performing at the well-known venue Caravan, collaborating with major Greek artists including Themis Adamantidis, Vasilis Terlegkas, Stathis Aggelopoulos, Angela Dimitriou, Katerina Stanisi, and Rita Sakellariou. That same year, he signed with Polygram (now Universal) and released his debut album. Over the years, he has built a strong presence in the Greek music scene, releasing multiple albums including Oti Aisthanomai (1999), Tha Deiksei (2001), San Savvatovrado (2004), Zo Gia Sena (2006), and Tora Ti Na Leme (2009), followed by later successful releases. Haris Akritidis remains a dedicated representative of Greek popular music, loved for his sincerity, passion, and connection with his audience.
