HARLAN

My name is HARLAN. I’m a 18-year-old artist based in South-East Queensland. I’ve always had a passion for music, and everything in me tells me that this is what I’m meant to do with my life. For most of my life, I’ve felt like an outsider. I didn’t have many friends growing up, probably because I came across as “too much.” But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that it wasn’t really about me being too much; it was because I made people uncomfortable. I have always known who I was, and that self-awareness can be threatening to others who don't possess that. I grew up listening to a lot of country, pop, and ’90s rock. That’s not necessarily my sound, but I think you can hear those influences in my music. I write and produce all my songs with friend, Luka Wegner. Everything I express through my work is my truth and my story—and I believe that’s what’s missing in the music industry today: storytelling. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this.
