An underground, nostalgic blues rock artist.
Hailing from a small town called Martinez in the San Francisco Bay Area, Harrison picked up the guitar at the age of 12. As a teen, he began cutting his teeth in the local blues scene by jamming and sitting in with bands and artists in the area. It wasn't long before he got his hands on records from the blues greats; Muddy Waters, B.B King, and Robert Johnson. A healthy dose of rock and roll bands such as The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Allman Brothers, jam based groups like The Grateful Dead and the songwriting of Bob Dylan formed a lasting impression and led him on a deep musical journey. At the age of 21, he relocated to Los Angeles and began working as a sideman for various groups as well as composing his own music. He began immersing himself in the laurel canyon scene and fell in love with the classic songwriters and bands that hailed from the legendary neighborhood in the 60's and 70's Melding all these influences together, Harrison has found a unique sound that resonates with his spirit. There are hints of jazz, psychedelia, country, surf rock, western and world music that have found their way into his blues and rock based leanings. Harrison and his band (Mars Horner on bass and Jared Cvetich on drums) formed last year and have been playing shows up and down the coast. They are currently recording a record with bassist/producer John Avila (Oingo Boingo, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real) which is set to be released late this year.
