Headache

Imagine there was a man. A totally normal man. A totally unremarkable man. One night this man couldn’t sleep and didn’t know what to do so he got a coin and flipped it again and again until he got bored and threw it in his watering can. He felt really unlucky and told himself it was just because he was tired because he couldn’t sleep because he was too bad at writing. But that was a lie. It was really because the night before airport security had taken his favourite candle and hadn’t given it back . Someone called him to say that they were sad and he said: “So what? I’m sad too.” He asked then for forgiveness and at last fell asleep. We don’t know what he dreamt. Nobody on heaven on earth knows what to do. Beyond hope is beyond panic. The longest distance in the world is between the head and the heart, and though birds don’t sing in the rain, they do need trees and grass and water to survive. My beauty may fade but my message never will. Survival is a proof of strength. Stop cheering me, I’m wrong. Stop screaming at me, I’m scared.
