An underground funk act.
Austin’s Honey Made bring back memories of legends like James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, and Earth Wind and Fire with their modern take on slamming primal soul and focus on their R&B roots. The band was an official 2022 SXSW Showcasing artist opening for Tomar and the FCs and has recently opened for the Soul Rebels from New Orleans, LA and Funk You from Augusta, GA. Honey Made began performing in 2018 and has become known as one of the best live bands in town. In 2022 and 2023 Honey Made was named the "Best Live Band" in Austin Fit Magazine's "Best of Austin" list. The band followed its April 2020 release of the EP Couple few with the release of its first full length studio album "Brand New" in November 2020. The album features ten tracks of original music and is produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos. The Band's single "Upstairs" released in June 2022 has had play on over 20 AAA radio stations and was in rotation on Sirius XM's "The Loft." Honey Made's new EP "Charge It To The Band Fund" dropped on November 17, 2023. It has received critical acclaim. The band continues to push the boundary on what defines a musical genre by using diverse elements from multiple genres. The result is music that is exciting for both fans and musicians.
