An underground surf rock act.
Since its eponymous debut in 2018, Humanga Danga has been looking back at 60’s Californian surf music to carve out its own identity. Not fixated purely on the classic West Coast sound, but equally embracing influences from early European instrumental rock ‘n roll, film scores, western, chicha and ethnic folktunes, the Belgian band developed a recognisable and unique voice in the global modern surf music scene. With a firm focus on songwriting and strong melodics, Humanga Danga’s 2022 follow up ‘Watusi Peak’ confirmed the kaleidoscopic range of the band’s compositions, going from exotica to spy, and from racetrack bombers to slow moody pieces and all out party rockers. The band has been written about in the world's leading genre magazines (The Continental, Pipeline), receives regular airplay on specialist internet radioshows (a.o. Fiberglass Jungle) and played the number one European surf music event (Surfer Joe Summer Festival) in 2023. https://www.facebook.com/humangadangaband https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfChRNMYVXcGv6I6sPk8TJg
