Internal Bleeding
A high-energy, nostalgic death metal artist.
Internal Bleeding was founded in 1991, and released their first demo, "The One Dollar Demo," the same year. Their next demo, 1992's "Invocation of Evil" exploded onto the scene and quickly became a favorite in the underground, selling over 5000 copies. They quickly found themselves playing shows with large national acts. It was during this time the band defined their sound as "Slam," to bring attention to their focus on heavy grooves that would guarantee a swirling mosh pit. Press and other outlets didn’t quite understand the sound, but fans did, and they loyally filled shows to capacity. In 1994 they took the Slam sound to new heights with “Perpetual Degradation,” – which went on to top the sales figures of “Invocation of Evil.” They signed its first record deal in late 1994, and released their debut album, “Voracious Contempt,” in 1995. From a historical standpoint, this album is the “blueprint” for many popular hardcore and metal bands. Furthermore, it’s truly the first Slam album. Bands as diverse as Slipknot and Hatebreed consider Internal Bleeding a primary influence — a testament to the their pioneering sound. More albums followed: Extinction of Benevolence (1997), Driven to Conquer (1999), Onward to Mecca (2004), Imperium (2014) and Corrupting Influence (2018). Each album bringing new dimensions to the band’s sound and pushing the boundaries with what could be done within their patented Slam format.
