Isaac Aesili
Isaac Aesili is a Māori musician, DJ, and music producer from Aotearoa, New Zealand, based in Bangkok. DJs such as Bill Brewster, Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Jamz Supernova, and Shy One have supported his music. Isaac is a member of the Lord Echo band playing trumpet and percussion; his horns feature in many collaborations, including ‘Midnight in Peckham’ by Chaos in the CBD (Rhythm Section) and ‘Layer’ by Julien Dyne (Wonderful Noise/BBE). His music styles span soul, deep house, and electronica, mixed with elements of jazz, hip-hop, reggae, Brazilian, Latino, Afro, and Asia-Pacific influences. Isaac is a featured artist on the title track of Chaos in the CBD’s new album, ‘A Deeper Life’. His most recent release consists of a series of four instrumental albums, which include unreleased instrumental versions and selected instrumentals from projects produced between 2009 and 2020 including Funkommunity, Sorceress, Karlmarx, Latinaotearoa, and his solo material.
