Itches
A homegrown, raw egg punk artist.
Hailing from the slums of Los Kempos, Belgian three-piece Itches was awakened from cryogenic sleep paralysis in 2020 and has been creeping on stages ever since. The band's sound is pickled in the flavor of cheap canned beer and is a potent cocktail of garage rock and roll, 60s freakbeat, proto-punk, krautrock, and heavy psych jangle. Frontman Philippe Peeters Aguilar, half Belgian, half Colombian, born in Belgium and raised in Mexico, brings unconventional flavored songwriting and a massive Hendrixian guitar sound to the not-so-Stille Kempen. The rhythm section consists of Arno Sels on drums and Hendrik Vanden Berk on bass. Together, their loud signature sound, chaotic yet tight live performances, and infectiously wild energy have earned them a reputation as one of the best-kept secrets of the Belgian underground. Their first effort, 2022’s EP Kingdom Upstairs, delivers the band’s raw, unpolished sound straight to your eardrums: seven tracks blitzed out in one weekend with a hands-on, no-nonsense approach. In 2024, they released their debut album Two Flies In One Clap. On November 20th, they released their second album 'House Animal Included', an emotionally unstable, love-sick, fuzz-soaked joyride tearing through the dirty backroads of garageland. It’s poppy, punky, and raw. Garage in its purest form: homemade and rough around the edges. Booking: itchesband@gmail.com
