Itzik Rikan
Itzik Rikan (born 1993) is a Jerusalem-born Mediterranean singer whose music blends Kurdish, Turkish, and Greek roots with a modern emotional voice. Raised in Katamon, he grew up surrounded by the melodies his grandfather played at home and the Greek classics his father loved — sounds that shaped his identity from childhood. Rikan began his musical journey at the age of six, studying baglama, classical guitar, and bouzouki, and later performed on major stages alongside leading Israeli and international artists. After nearly a decade as an instrumentalist, he discovered his true path as a vocalist. A spontaneous Kurdish medley he released unexpectedly went viral, introducing him to a wide audience. Today, Rikan creates and performs in Kurdish, Greek, and Hebrew. Guided by emotion and honesty, he describes his music simply: “My music is where I put my heart on the table. I don’t follow trends — I follow my heart.”
