Izzy and the Black Trees

From a quiet university city in Western Poland, Izzy and the Black Trees bring raw punk energy, noisy psych guitar riffs, strong beat and feisty melodies. Founded in 2018 by the singer and band leader Izabela Izzy Rekowska who spent some time in London working-up her songwriting skills prior to forming the four-piece. The second album Revolution Comes In Waves (Antena Krzyku) came out October 2022, received many superb reviews not only in Poland but also abroad in the UK, Germany (OxFanzine 9/10 stars). Rumore magazine (Italy), Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and more! The band was featured on the KEXP show Sonic Reducer run by Brian Foss, Radio X UK and once again on Steve’s Lamacq BBC 6 Music show. Selected as the best Polish rock record of the year 2022 by Teraz Rock magazine.  Their live shows are full of feminine, punk and rock'n'roll energy. Izzy &TBT played shows at Westway LAB (PT), Spring Break (PL), TakBrzmiMiasto (PL), Next Fest (PL), Sharpe (SL) showcase festivals. Toured clubs and big festivals in Poland such as Jarocin, Malta Festival and Inne Brzmienia (Different Sounds), Summer Dying Loud, Mystic Festival. The band is no stranger to Berlin and Prague venues. As Keychange artists 2023 played at Liverpool Sound City and in London. This year (2023) played the main stage at the renowned OFF Festival in Katowice alongside Slowdive, King Krule & Spiritualized and many more amazing bands.
