My voice is soft and low and the poetry I sing is straight from my heart. As a classically trained guitarist, my folk songs are laced with haunting complexity. After releasing my debut album in 2014, I moved to from Lubbock,Tx to Austin, Tx and immersed myself in the musical culture. In 2019 I had monthly residency with C3 at the Historic Scoot Inn where I put on dream-like art shows called, "Jake Farr's Parlor Show". As the world shut down in 2020, I began playing online shows and was fortunate enough to perform for people all over the world from the comfort of my own studio. After releasing the 'Novella' EP in early 2022, I booked another long-term residency in Austin’s finest listening room, the Cactus Cafe (2022-Present). In my work with the Cactus, I host the legendary Songwriters’ Open Mic, songwriter showcases, and perform an annual Parlor Show. I am currently recording my second full-length album with Justin Douglas at King Electric Recording, mentoring a full studio of guitarists, and attempting to write my first fantasy novel.
