An underground indie rock act.
JAKOMO is a Brussels-based band that describes their sound as suave rock. The project was born in the bedroom of Julien Tanghe, where he isolated himself to make music. Not long after, he found his musical counterpart in Wout Vermijs (guitar), who also brought the band’s visual universe to life. A match made in heaven! With Jef Ballon (bass) and Thibault Goudket (drums), the band quickly landed shows at festivals and venues such as Dour, Le Botanique and Ancienne Belgique and made a strong impression with their debut EP Fastbreak. With the release of their debut album Lobby in early 2023, JAKOMO clearly took a major step forward. They sold out two shows at AB Club in no time and played numerous clubs across Belgium. At the same time, they began expanding beyond borders with their first shows in the Netherlands and France. After this intense campaign, the band took a step back to reset and further define their sound. In a world that keeps accelerating, JAKOMO chose to slow down. They took time to refine their songwriting and reconnect with each other. Where their debut album Lobby was marked by wild, psychedelic outbursts, their second album leans into a desire for connection, a search for togetherness in the midst of everyday chaos and constant motion. JAKOMO’s second album will be released this fall via On The Level.
