James Dupré

James Dupré, a native of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, was named one of Rolling Stone’s “Country Artists You Need to Know.” His rich baritone voice first gained attention on YouTube in 2007, leading to an appearance on Ellen and ultimately a record deal with Warner Music Nashville. A former meteorology student and paramedic, Dupré fully embraced music, performing at venues and festivals across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. In 2015, Dupré turned all four chairs on Season 9 of The Voice, joining Adam Levine’s team. He went on to release Stoned to Death, with singles “Hurt Good” and “Stoned to Death” charting on Billboard’s Indicator chart. A father of five, Dupré also appeared in the film The Price, playing the son of country legend Randy Travis, and was later chosen by Randy and Mary Travis to front The Music of Randy Travis (now the More Life tour), performing Randy’s classic hits with his original band. Dupré’s 2020 album Home and Away produced three charting singles, and in 2023 he made his Grand Ole Opry debut. In 2024, he was featured on CBS Sunday Morning as the voice behind “Where That Came From,” marking Randy Travis’s first new release in over a decade and the first commercial single to use AI-assisted vocals. His latest project, the EP Perfect Time, was released in 2025.
