Jason Robert Blum is a songwriter based in Austin, TX. He wrote and recorded three self-produced albums: Flexible Sensuals (2000), Gift Horse (2004), and Radio Dial (2012). In the old days and old ways, these albums were recorded on analog tapes and sold out of the car trunk and merch booth at his shows, touring with the likes of Ani DiFranco, James McMurtry, Kat Edmonson, and Alejandro Escovedo. In 2016, he released the album Invisible Words, produced by Jim Scott, featuring Blake Mills, JJ Johnson, Dave Monsey, and Dave Palmer. In 2019, he was a member of Glorietta, which Rolling Stone magazine called a Texas supergroup (Nathaniel Rateliff, Adrian Quesada, Matthew Logan Vasquez, David Ramirez, and Noah Gunderson). The self-titled album featured three of Blum's songs: "Easy Come Easy Go," "Losers Lament," and "Las Estrellas." In 2020, Blum formed Branzino with Tim Lefebvre and JJ Johnson and released the self-titled album called Branzino in 2025, recorded and mixed by Jason Kingsland.
