JD Casper

JD Casper is an Austin, Texas-based Americana artist blending Appalachian roots with the sound and spirit of Texas. A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Casper has built a career around putting his own spin on the music he loves — from bluegrass and country to rock and ’90s nostalgia. Casper was a First Place winner in the Wide Open Country & American Songwriter songwriting competition and has appeared on NBC’s The Voice. His music has also been featured on CMH Records’ acclaimed Pickin’ On Series, including a bluegrass collaboration on Post Malone’s “Chemical.” With more than 200 live performances a year over the past decade, JD has become a seasoned road musician known for high-energy shows and unexpected genre-bending. His EMO-GRASS and 90’s Grass projects continue that tradition, reimagining songs from a different generation through a bluegrass lens. Rooted in Appalachia, shaped by Texas, and never afraid to cross a genre line, JD Casper is carving out a sound that’s uniquely his own.
