With a recognizable acoustic signature, pianist Jean-Pierre Como, Steinway Artist, is a charismatic virtuoso in total symbiosis with his instrument. He is one of the rare musicians capable of telling a story, of sharing and transmitting his passion to the audience, thus drawing listeners into his powerful poetic imagination. A major figure, Jean-Pierre Como has left his mark on the jazz scene since he co-founded the emblematic jazz fusion group Sixun. He receives the SACEM Grand Prix Jazz Award with the band Sixun. He has played alongside a multitude of great names such as Michael Brecker, Didier Lockwood, Sylvain Luc, Stefano Di Battista, Jean-Luc Ponty , André Ceccarelli, Paco Sery, Paolo Fresu, Aldo Romano, Hugh Coltman, Anne Ducros... He asserted himself very early as a leader, with a discography in which his talents as a pianist and compositor flourish. Together with singer Walter Ricci, Jean-Pierre Como reveals with the album My Little Italy, a part of his intimate or imaginary Italy. My Days in Copenhagen, with Thomas Fonnesbæk and Niclas Campagnol, celebrates a natural and personal approach to jazz standards. Com ô Paradis, his 14th album, is a piano solo. His Infinite Quartet, with Christophe Panzani, Rémi Vignolo and Bruno Schorp, awakens deep, intimate and powerful emotions, poetic moments and rhythmic storms. “Parfum d'Azur” is his 16th album, on which he features the Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto .
He plays contemporary jazz, often piano-centric, blending acoustic melodies with elements of jazz fusion and classical influences, as heard on his album "Parfum d'Azur".
