Jelle

Jelle (°20/12/1999) was born in Herent, a small town nearby Leuven (BE). As a skater he came in touch with hiphop music at the age of 10. His friend and colleague rapper Ari introduced him into the wondrous world of music making and he hasn’t looked back since. He started recording songs and uploaded them on Soundcloud so his friends could listen to it. These first tracks gained some attention and resulted in Jelle’s first live performances. With his high-energy flows and clever wordplay, he managed to build a small fanbase. Things were getting serious when he signed his first contract with Noncha Records, the record company founded by his good friend Ariël Hauspie. His first single 'Geniaal' was received well and after this first single, Jelle released his first EP 'Kampioen'. The EP gained over 100K streams in less then 5 months. Between his first and his second EP (Jongen en de Music) Noncha released Jelle’s most popular track yet: 'Bebouwde Kom' featuring Vinci & Bird. ‘Jongen en de Music’ was a transitional period for the rapper. He was looking for his sound as he battled demons and faced doubts about his future. Having overcome these struggles, Jelle is now working on new music on a higher level. With his eyes set on his goals, the young rapper is developing a more mature sound. More to come soon…
