A nostalgic, underground aor act.
Jet Red emerged from Northern California in the late 1980s, delivering a unique blend of hard rock, glam metal, and melodic hooks that captured the essence of the era. The band was led by Willie Hines (vocals, guitar) with Johnny Feikert (guitar, vocals) and Brad Lang (bass, vocals). They had several drummers, including Billy Carmassi, Michael Frowein (later with Lynch Mob and Jeff Pilson’s War and Peace), and Steve Brown (now Tesla's drummer and brother of Dokken’s Mick Brown). The band quickly built a loyal fanbase with high-energy performances and infectious songwriting. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1989, showcased their musical prowess with many standout tracks that remain fan favorites, though poor timing and lack of label support hindered success. Years later, demos of numerous songs were properly recorded as their second album, Flight Plan, and eventually released in 2011. It displays their signature sound but was lost in time due to shifting musical trends. It also features bonus tracks “Lonely” and “Let It Roll” from the first album when Marty Friedman (Megadeth) was in the band, along with “Take It Down.” Jet Red stayed true to their roots, continuing to produce music that resonated with their audience. Over the years, their classic sound has stood the test of time. Willie Hines released solo albums including Yeah Right, Whatever, and Letters To Maria, while Brad Lang went on to play with Y&T, Ratt, and the Bulletboys.
