An underground easy listening artist.
John Holland, alias for John Verheij, is a composer based in the Netherlands. Holland started playing drums at the age of nine, following in his father's footsteps as a drummer. Holland quickly realised his interests in musical instruments weren't limited to drums. He taught himself how to play other instruments among which: keys, guitar and bass, which he used in a multitude of bands and school-orchestra's. During his last year in highschool Holland discovered what was to be his biggest passion: composing. During his time at Codarts (Conservatory of Rotterdam) Holland improved his craft, started using vocals and producing digitally using FL studio as well. Holland composed the score for the game 'Switch & Ditch', released on Steam January 2019 and continued releasing independent compositions on social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram. During his time at the conservatory Holland grew to love the endless possibilities and genres of music and started integrating foreign and digital aspects in his compositions, which ultimately inspired him to write his final thesis on the influence of music on emotions in anime in 2021. In May 2022 Holland produced a show named Flesym Follagni Volem which consisted of a film and live music. In July 2022 Holland released his first official album which contained the show's score.
