An underground turkish electronic artist.

Tracks5

Formed in Istanbul in 2017, French band JOHNNY MAKAM blends the rich textures of Turkish music with electronic and contemporary sounds. After their 2023 EP Elektronik Ziyafet, the band is touring in 2024 while preparing their debut album to be released October 2025. Led by the captivating voice of turkish singer Ebru AYDIN, their music fuses vibrant Eastern rhythms—such as the hypnotic 7/8 beats of Black Sea music and the infectious Ciftetelli rhythms from the broader Middle East—with powerful electronic layers, rock energy, and experimental grooves. Yann Le Glaz’s electronic saxophone , Benjamin Richard’s pulsating rhythms, and Kevin Balzan’s deep basslines create a dynamic soundscape. Camille Holzer’s double-neck guitar adds a unique texture, weaving intricate improvisations that complement the band’s expansive sonic palette. Johnny Makam’s music is an immersive experience, best felt live. Their concerts are a must-see for anyone looking to be swept away by a thrilling, euphoric fusion of traditional and modern sounds.
