Juan Chiavassa is a drummer, producer, and composer from Argentina, now based in Brooklyn, NY. A Berklee College of Music graduate and recipient of the Avedis Zildjian Scholarship, Juan is known for his versatile style across jazz, Latin, R&B, rock, and world music. He has performed with renowned artists including Mike Stern (as his current drummer), Paquito D'Rivera, Esperanza Spalding, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, John Patitucci, Jimmy Haslip, David Kikoski, Pedrito Martinez, George Garzone, Russell Malone, Julieta Rada, Ruben Rada, Residente and Bad Bunny (on The Tonight Show) among others. As a producer, he led Julieta Rada’s 2024 album Candombe featuring Fito Paez, Ruben Rada, Pedrito Martinez among other artists. The album received a Latin Grammy nomination for 'Best Folk Album' in 2025. He also released two genre-blending albums with the Neverpony project. In 2025, he released his first live album as a bandleader 'Fourth Generation' featuring John Patitucci, Mike Stern, George Garzone, and Leo Genovese. Actively touring and collaborating globally, Juan continues to bring his dynamic voice to diverse musical projects.
