An underground jazz artist.
Judah Guerra uses music to achieve his goal: connecting people in all walks of life. This goal shows in his versatile musical pursuits where one day he is playing electric bass with artists like Edgeworthe, James Gardin or Jahshua Smith, or the next playing trombone with the numerous current day jazz artists. Currently, Guerra is at Harvard of the south: The University of Texas at Austin under the direction of Diego Rivera. In his first semester as a teaching assistant, he has taken the city by storm, playing with local performers Aubrey Logan, Mike Sailors, Daniel Dufour, Christian Wiggs, and Diego Rivera. Guerra credits Rodney Whitaker, Walter Blanding, Michael Dease, Diego Rivera, Randy Napoleon, Xavier Davis, Anthony Stanco, Robert Edwards, John Fremgen, and Paul Deemer as the mentors that have shaped his journey through their given opportunity and education. Guerra also credits his family, both immediate and extended, for their influence on his musical journey. His sister, Milagro Guerra is a NYC based singer-songwriter that included Judah on the track Beach Boy, his brother Linus is a music educator in West Michigan, his mother is the Director of Music and Arts at the church he grew up for over 20 years, and his father plays percussion and continues to push him to greater heights. With his debut album "Student of the Way" he brings the lens of his growth in life and music - which he has been told go had in hand.
