Jumpin'up
A nostalgic italian rockabilly artist.
The Jumpin'up are a Sicilian swing band, consisting of 8 elements. The band formed in 2005 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, with the desire to recreate the original sound of the 40's and 50's, from Swing, to Old Rhythm 'n' Blues, from Rock 'n' Roll to Jumpin' Jive. Jumpin'up explores and rediscovers musicality of the jive energy and the swing of the golden years. Compose the band, the powerful voice of Tony Marino, the hot jump-blues guitar by Giuseppe Montalbano, the dragging shuffle-swing by Peppe Falzone on drums, the "walking" of the double-bass player Alberto Petrigno, the jazz pianist Giuseppe Salerno, merge with tenor sax of Carmelo Sacco, the baritone sax of Michele Mazzola and the trumpet of Nicola Genualdi, in a very special blend, derived from the historic American combo-bands of the 40's and 50's. Through 20 years of activity the band has been able to perform not only in Italy but also abroad in the panorama of the swing lovers and dancers, performing concerts in more of 15 European countries as well Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Holland, Netherlands, Albania, France, Norway, Sweden, and also England and Ireland participating in some of the most prestigious European festivals dedicated to the world of Swing, Rock'n'Roll and related roots.
