Kelsey Kindall

Kelsey Kindall is a pop singer-songwriter based in San Francisco. She has four projects out on streaming platforms, consisting of alt-pop catalog that has earned more than 200,000 streams and 100,000 listeners — and is now writing toward a more stripped-back, singer-songwriter sound with her new label, El Portal Recordings. She grew up singing in church choir and getting cast as the funny one in school musicals. That love of performing led to a full-ride musical-theater scholarship and a move to New York, where she wrote and premiered an original show. When the pandemic closed the stage doors, she started writing and recording remotely with producer Will Duncan — and never stopped. Her songs are built on honest, story-driven lyrics: the things most people keep to themselves. Her music has been featured in Clout, Flex, and Lock magazines. Live is where her theater background comes back out. Kelsey has played The Independent, Brick & Mortar, Hotel Utah, Café Du Nord, Swedish American Hall, the Make Out Room, Kilowatt, and The Faight, and performs regularly as a Sofar Sounds artist. Her sets mix real emotion with the kind of between song storytelling that pulls a whole room in — funny, warm, and a little like a celebration.
