An underground ambient jazz artist.
Kjetil Husebø is a Norwegian composer, pianist, and electronic artist working at the intersection of ambient, electroacoustic, jazz, and experimental music. His work blends acoustic and digital sound — from grand piano and live sampling to synthesizers, samplers, and field recordings — creating immersive sonic worlds rich in nuance and detail. Husebø is known for his Piano Transformed series, where he merges acoustic piano with electronics in both studio and live settings. His latest release, Piano Transformed – Interspace (2025), is his first double album, spanning melodic, abstract, and experimental landscapes. In 2025, he also unveils the trilogy Interiors — Oscillations of Memory, Unseen Topographies, and Ontology of Silence — exploring themes of memory, perception, and silence through a purely electronic and electroacoustic palette. Previous works include Emerging Narratives (2024) and Years of Ambiguity (2023), both featuring collaborations with Arve Henriksen and Eivind Aarset. His 2022 duo album with Henriksen, Sequential Stream, blends trumpet, piano, live sampling and electronics into a meditative and shape-shifting sonic tapestry. Cinematic in scope yet intimate in detail, Husebø’s music invites deep listening — an architecture of sound where tradition and technology converge.
