An underground jazz artist.
Kristof NEGRIT is a Guadeloupean drummer and percussionist based in Paris, raised in a family of musicians and shaped by gwo ka, konpa and zouk. Built on jazz and Caribbean stages, he first made his mark as an eclectic sideman before stepping up as a bandleader blending Guadeloupean rhythms, modern jazz and afrobeat. With his debut album État d’âme, he turns memories into an intimate musical diary where each track explores a strong emotion. Designed for the stage, the project mixes Caribbean grooves, lyrical melodies and improvisation. On État d’âme, he is joined by a tight‑knit quartet – Illyes Ferfera (sax), Julian Caétano (piano), Zacharie Abraham (double bass) – plus guests from the Caribbean jazz scene.
