An underground country act.
Lazy Jane is a country music duo delivering a unique, edgy take on the genre with its soaring melodies, fierce guitar playing, and impressive vocal blend. The duo was formed in the summer of 2016 by the now husband and wife pair of Madison and Tristen Smith. Drawing inspiration from a poem in Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends, the pair loved the idea of having a name that seemed a little ironic given the energetic dynamic of their live shows. In its short history, Lazy Jane has performed shows not only in countless living rooms and dive bars, but also notable venues and festivals such as the Capitol Theater (Wheeling, WV), Bluebird Cafe (Nashville, TN), and Jamboree in the Hills (St. Clairsville, OH). In 2020, they released a few singles ("Pretty Drifter" and "Devil I Know") produced by country powerhouse producers Derek George (Randy Houser, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts and more) & Julian King (Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and more), and in 2021 recorded their project “Sounds Like You” with The Swon Brothers.
Lazy Jane plays alternative country music characterized by fierce guitar playing and dynamic vocal harmonies.
The duo has deep roots performing across iconic venues in Nashville, Tennessee and the surrounding region.
