LCLS (pronounced “LOCALS”) is a four-piece alternative rock band from Austin, Texas, making fuzzy, melodic guitar music with one foot in the ’90s and the other somewhere in the present. Pulling from the loud/quiet dynamics of Nirvana and Pixies, the slacker-rock sensibilities of Pavement, and the modern grit of bands like Momma, Superheaven, and Bully, LCLS makes music that feels familiar without getting stuck in the past. Released through Ben Kweller’s Noise Company, their music is equal parts distortion, nostalgia, late-night hangs, and a hint of slackerdom.
