LA-based non-binary artist Lex Looper found a home in the underground bass scene after exploring the sounds of lo-fi, rock, and pop. Now, with 15 years of music production under her belt and an audio engineering degree to show for it, she is determined to make a mark with greater purpose and production prowess. Lex’s sound comprises a dynamic mix of a variety of bass music sub-genres, including everything from Deep Dubstep to Breaks to UK Garage to DnB to Downtempo. She fuses grimy basslines and rugged drums with deeply meaningful sound bites to express herself in both original productions and DJ sets. Lex’s musical style expresses the darker, moodier, and introspective facets of her identity that fuel her journey of self-discovery. But don’t be fooled, Lex’s friendly and positive demeanor will charm you. Lex strives to create tunes that embody the queer experience in a time where LGBTQ+ representation is so desperately needed.
