An underground pop artist.
Lianah Sta. Ana is an actor, writer, and cultural worker of Filipino descent. After making her Broadway debut as the “Kim” alternate in the revival of Miss Saigon, Lianah was motivated to pursue a B.A. from Columbia University's Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race to gain a more critical understanding of popular representations of historically oppressed bodies. Her own creative work, located at the intersection of Filipino and Filipino American culture, history, and memory, combines theory and practice to empower audiences and encourage critical consciousness. Theater: Miss Saigon (Broadway 2017), Waitress (2nd National Tour), Kyoto (Lincoln Center), My Best Friend’s Wedding (Ogunquit Playhouse). Film: Damned If You Do, Prom Dates (Hulu).
