Leading Czech jazz guitarist, composer, and educator Libor Šmoldas has played and recorded with world-class musicians including George Mraz, Jeff Ballard, Sam Yahel, Bobby Watson, Adam Nussbaum, James Morrison, Brian Charette, Gregory Hutchinson, Jon Faddis, and Jay Anderson, and performs literally across the globe. Among the iconic jazz venues where he has appeared are the legendary Ronnie Scott's and Pizza Express in London, Smalls and Iridium in New York, and several clubs within the worldwide Blue Note and Birdland networks. He performs regularly in Australia, the United States, and throughout Europe. In the Czech Republic, Šmoldas is a constant presence on the live circuit, with countless number of performances both as a leader and alongside other leading figures of Czech jazz. With Ondřej Pivec's Organic Quartet, he won the Anděl Award for Album of the Year. He appears regularly at the Prague Spring, Prague Proms, JazzFestBrno, Bohemia Jazz Fest, and Prague Strings festivals.
