Little Dark One

Little Dark One began in the quiet isolation of late nights, born in the enclave of SF’s Potrero Hill during a season of profound change. What started as a solitary refuge soon evolved into a lifeline, resurrecting a collective resurgence of long-time musician friends from both the Bay Area and the former hometown of Sacramento back into music. Seeking connection through catharsis, the collaborators leaned into their shared creative history to build a unified sonic space of resilience. Now based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, the band creates a sound that moves intentionally from dark to light. Little Dark One pairs sweeping, atmospheric backgrounds with the raw, straightforward grit of distorted guitar and bass tones—channeling the sharp indie-rock DNA of The Breeders, PJ Harvey, and Lush. The lyrics act as both blunt tell-tales and abstracted visual stories of love, loss, and hope. From the haunting, primal cry of a wailing banshee to the fragile vulnerability of deep, pure love, the music captures the exact moment of choosing to move forward past the wreckage.
