Maciek Pysz

Maciek Pysz is a guitarist and composer described by Ian Mann (The Jazz Mann) as “a quiet virtuoso.” Self-taught since the age of 10, he has developed a distinctive voice blending jazz, classical, tango, flamenco and Brazilian influences, rooted in melody, space and expressive depth. He has performed with Richard Galliano, Daniele di Bonaventura, Tim Garland and Ivo Neame, and appeared at festivals alongside Hiromi, Vincent Peirani, Émile Parisien, Erik Truffaz, Stanley Clarke, Yaron Herman and the Marcin Wasilewski Trio. After moving to London in 2003, he formed the Maciek Pysz Trio and released his debut EP Discoveries (2008). His first album Insight (2013, 33Jazz), recorded in Italy with Yuri Goloubev and Asaf Sirkis, received critical acclaim. A Journey (2015, Dot Time Records), featuring di Bonaventura and supported by Arts Council England, further established his international reputation. Subsequent releases include London Stories (2017, 33Jazz), Coming Home (2017, Caligola) and the solo album A View (2019, Caligola) and Space Jazz (2018, Ozella Music) with French trio Inwardness He leads the Maciek Pysz French Quartet and continues to tour across Europe. In 2025 he recorded a new trio album with Daniele di Bonaventura and Goloubev, to be released in April 2026 on ABeat Records.
