An underground vocal jazz artist.
Born in Germany, with Vietnamese roots and influences from Japan and Brazil, she learned early on that language isn’t just about meaning—it’s about sound. This sensitivity to sound—to nuances and the spaces between notes—permeates everything she does: Her vocal style, her improvisation, her a cappella work, and her arrangements. She released EPs as part of the duos temarioto and GIDAM. She also founded the vocal group MNDS: Four female singers who come together to create a space where the unheard are given a voice.
Mai Linh Dang plays vocal jazz and experimental a cappella music, blending Japanese literary themes with nuanced vocal arrangements.
